Liston would have literally killed Marciano with his "mush" for brains, after the likes of a mediocre power Ted Lowry (64-49-9) had him out on his feet, and the referee cleaned up the mess with the judges, and gave Rocky the decesion in his 21st fight. Same decision process in 26th fight vs La Srarza (37-0)

Sonny was at least 3-5 years older than people thought. It is common knowledge among the older boxing heads that had interactions with the HW upper echelon in those days that Sonny was past his prime by the time he ever fought on film. So, EVERYTHING we have that shows Liston actually boxing shows a man who is - AT BEST - at the very tail end of his prime, and probably already on the decline. UNREAL to think about what could have been if he had dedicated himself to boxing at a young age and lived a cleaner life. He is boxing’s Anakin Slywalker. His arc almost mirrors Anakin’s, and I think he was a much better person than he gets credit for being. The persona outshone the person.

It’s a shame that Sonny didn’t live long enough to see what Ali eventually became and realize how little those losses actually meant to his legacy. Ali would’ve smashed ANY HW who ever lived in the mid- to late-60s. His hand speed and lateral movement, combined with his reflexes, pace, will to win, fight IQ, and punch resistance were just too many elite attributes for one man to overcome. Only when Ali started to physically decline did we see the chinks in the armor. And who really knows when the reflexes and nervous system started to deteriorate and let him down… even if just enough to get caught a little too often? We will NEVER know this, but I know ONE thing: The warrior I watched in the ring during those 1960s fights could finish any man on any given day. RIP Great Man🙏🏼

Rocky is my favorite boxer of all time. Bricks for hands, a granite chin, great personality, unmatched cardio, great head movement, and underated body work. I studied Rocky a lot when I was younger developing my own fighting style. His relentless style and power was a problem for anyone who was in front him. For his size, dude was a beast and should always be respected as one of the greats
